JLM Petrol Hybrid Treatment is a cleaner, protector and preserver, formulated to address the particular challenges that are faced by high-voltage hybrid vehicles, capable of electric-only propulsion. It guards against internal engine coking, lubricates and cleans the high-pressure fuel system, plus extends the petrol’s usable lifespan.

The downsides of switching a petrol engine on and off repeatedly to boost fuel efficiency are not immediately apparent. As the resultant lower temperatures and suboptimal combustion conditions promote a gradual accumulation of harmful deposits within the engine and fuel injection system, any effects are hard to notice, until the car either fails an exhaust emissions inspection, or develops a fault.

The JLM Petrol Hybrid Treatment is a preventative maintenance fuel additive that helps to clean-up these build-ups and prevents them from reoccurring. Its formulation also tackles the fuel injector deposits that are caused by regular engine shut-downs, while providing the low and high-pressure fuel pumps with an extra lubrication shot.

Additionally, as modern ethanol-laced petrol reacts with the air within the fuel tank, it turns stale within weeks. As deteriorated fuel is not in peak condition, it cannot burn cleanly and this encourages even more deposits to build. Therefore, JLM’s Petrol Hybrid Treatment contains an extra conditioner to slow down the ageing process, extending the fuel’s usable lifespan. This function is especially beneficial for Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) that are run frequently in electric-only modes.


While JLM’s Petrol Hybrid Treatment is formulated for high-voltage hybrids that can be driven in electric-only mode with the combustion engine turned off, it is also beneficial for any hybrid that has been used extensively in towns and cities. These include both low-voltage micro and mild-hybrid models, fitted with stop-start technology.

As the Petrol Hybrid Treatment treats fuel to which it is dosed, JLM recommends that it is used at every fill-up. Shake well before use! And simply pour a full 250ml can of additive into the petrol fuel tank before filling up with fuel. One treatment is suitable for 30 to 50 litres of E0, E5 or E10 petrol but be careful not to overdose.

JLM’s Petrol Hybrid Treatment is intended for frequent, preventative maintenance use. Should your hybrid combustion engine, or fuel injection system, be suffering from a fault caused by high contamination levels, JLM Lubricants recommends that alternative products in its range of powerful engine, intake and fuel injection cleaners might be more appropriate.

Do any of the JLM additives help the performance of the high pressure diesel fuel pump?

J02330 Rapid is perfect for pump and injectors!

Is it OK to use the extreme and the DPF cleaner together. ?

No, this will not have a positive effect. In fact it may cause an adverse effect. And also the risk of overdosing! Never combine fuel additives


Will BluBoost dissolve existing crystal infestation or is it more like a preventative product?

JLM’s BluBoost additive cleans and prevents crystal formation in the AdBlue dosing system. It also conditions the AdBlue fluid for a longer time to ensure proper working of the AdBlue and SCR system. This helps prevent performance loss and the often-subsequent expensive repairs. It also reduces foaming at low temperatures

Is the JLM Engine Oil Flush safe for use with wet belt engines?

Our JLM OIL FLUSH is safe to use with ‘wet belts’ (TBIO). This is mainly because we use non solvent and premium pack of oil cleaning additives.


Does the Petrol Emissions Reduction Treatment also clean the catalytic convertor?

The catalytic converter is not a filter, it functions by converting harmful emission gases into less harmful gases. The filter can become contaminated if for example there has been an oil leak, and when this happens the filter needs to be replaced. There is no additive or chemical that will remove physical contamination from a catalytic.
